Catrina Stackpoole

Catrina Stackpoole has been serving on City Council since 2008, and is currently Mayor Pro Tem. She has a Masters degree in Social Work Community Practice from Wayne State University. She is a field instructor with WSU School of Social Work, supervising MSW interns working with the Mayor and Council. She is Council liaison to the Hamtramck Recycling Commission and has worked on the former Cities of Promise committee and now serves on The Sense of Place Committee and she represents Hamtramck on the Mayor’s Task Force on Child Abuse. Catrina is also the Executive Director of Recycled Treasures, a local nonprofit that helps low income families with emergency furniture and household needs. Her nonprofit work in Hamtramck starting in 2002 has afforded her both an intimate understanding of the needs of poor and working families and a wealth of contacts through her participation in Hamtramck United Social Services (HUSS). She is also a member of the Hamtramck DDA and the Hamtramck Art Collective (HATCH).
