Police Officer Eligibility Listing
A written examination for new police officers will be
conducted on March 13, 2010 at Oakland University by Empco,
Inc.
An Eligibility list will be developed for 17 communities.
To be eligible to take the examination, you must meet the
following minimum qualifications:
v
Possess current MCOLES Pre-employment tests in
Reading/Writing and the Physical Skills, or be registered
to take these exams, and have a qualifying waiver as a
currently sworn officer in the State of Michigan or have
graduated from an accredited police academy in the state
within the last year. .
v
Be at least 18 years old when you apply.
v
Be at least a high school graduate or G.E.D.
v
Be a U.S. citizen
v
Have no felony convictions on your record.
v
Have a valid driver’s license.
v
Have correctable vision with no major defects and normal
color vision and hearing.
To apply, go to Empco’s website at
www.empco.net. All applications and supporting
documents must be received by 5:00 pm on March 10, 2010.
Empco, Inc. has been contracted to facilitate the
examination process. Candidates passing the written
examination and an oral interview will be placed on the
Eligibility List of each city where you meet the city’s
hiring requirements. Effectively, one examination could
place you on Eligibility Lists for all participating
communities departments.
