In January, 1988, he was hired by the Hamtramck Police Department. The best Police Department with the greatest Officers. From 1995 to 2000 he was the Dare Officer. In 2001 he was promoted to Sergeant, and in 2003 was promoted to Lieutenant. On July 15th, 2009, he was promoted to Chief of Police.
Marek has been married for 26 years, and has a son and a daughter.
I am a Christian and attend Freedom Christian Church in Sterling Heights. I also attend the Polish Harvest Church (Polish speaking church) also located in Sterling Heights.
I think that Hamtramck is a great and unique city/community. I really like to get out into town and meet and talk to people. I also like learning about the various cultures in town. Community relations is at the top of my list, next to catching criminals.
I like to watch all sports especially when a Detroit team is playing. I really love road cycling (Tour de France) and like to get out on my bike at least 3 to 4 times a week and ride from 30 to 50 miles. I made 100 miles this year.
HAMTRAMCK!!! I only hope that I can live up to your expectations and humbly do the job with your help and the help of the "greatest" officers that any Chief could be working with. I salute you!!!
